ABOUT ABOUT

The way we work, learn and grow is experiencing dramatic shifts due to advances in technology, increased competition and changing values. However, the spaces we learn and develop in—both physical and virtual—don’t always reflect or anticipate our evolving needs. Outside of programming, learning can be designed through space and a combination of graphics, interiors, landscape, and architecture.

Join us for a 2-day workshop where we will explore and develop new ideas for the future of professional learning spaces.

Using design-thinking methodologies, we will identify user needs and translate these insights into ideas and concepts for contemporary learning environments. Participants will work collaboratively to develop techniques and explore the relationships between education, space, and design.

Located in the heart of Kansas City, the workshop will include local speakers and leaders in design, architecture, and interiors. Bringing together people from various fields and backgrounds, the workshop will generate ideas to help imagine a better space for future learning.

Highlights
• Experiential and activity-based
• Small group learning: day 1; working in pairs: day 2
• Sketching, storyboards, digital design, prototyping, and other tangible experiences
• Mobile research tool via free app
• Interacting with design thinking facilitators and local design leaders
• 6 principles to strengthen your knowledge of design thinking processes
